Supporting Movember

This morning felt very autumnal.  When I woke, I could hear the sound of rain on the roof, and water gushing down the gutters and splashing into the old well in the courtyard at the back of the house.  But very soon the clouds cleared away and the sun came out, though it was much cooler than we’ve been used to – perfect for a nice long Saturday morning walk up the bridlepath and back through the woods ….

Here’s Mr Impatient Benjamin hurrying me and Daisy along, very anxious to reach the stream at the bottom of the field for a little paddling!

Then this afternoon home for a nice snuggle on the sofa with some stitching, and I finished my first project for the November issue of the Bustle & Sew Magazine

Yes, next month is “Movember” – the month dedicated to raising awareness of men’s health – when you may spot some rather dodgy facial hair appearing up and down the country as men grow moustaches to show their support for this campaign.  Clearly as a girl I am unable (fortunately) to support the campaign in this way, so instead I have created two new applique patterns – a very dashing dog …

With a a very serious looking moustache, and a rather debonair cat ….

I think he might be French.  After all the word “moustache” is a French noun – of the FEMININE gender hee hee!  In support of Movember (which makes me a Mo Sista!) I am planning to auction them off on the Bustle & Sew Facebook page.  All proceeds will go to the charity Prostate Cancer UK and I’ll let you know when the auction begins, which will be during the month of November.

And finally … thank you so much for your lovely comments about my sparkly new site – I’m delighted you approve!
