Baking Corner: Gourmet Gourmand

The final contributor to the June Magazine I’d like to tell you about is Sarah from Gourmet Gourmand who brought us her lovely recipe for Fresh Fruit Tart ….

absolutely perfect for using up all the delicious soft fruit that’s so abundant at this time of year.  Strawberries are my absolute favourite berry, though I must admit I’m rather partial to most types, so this tart with perhaps a jug of cool, smooth pouring cream would make a yummy summer desert.  This would be just perfect for enjoying outside in my new garden, assuming the Newfies haven’t trampled over ALL the flowers by then!  But Sarah, who lives in San Diego, doesn’t just create lovely sweet dishes, her savoury offerings look just as scrumptious …

And I am definitely going to try her Middle Eastern Red Lentil Soup (image above – free recipe here).  If you’d like to explore Sarah’s blog and discover more of her recipes, which all have an original twist to them, then please just CLICK HERE for her website.

Thanks so much Sarah, for being part of the June Bustle & Sew Magazine.

We just went strawberry picking in northern Wisconsin. Fresh picked are the best. We have three blueberry bushes and should be ripe sometime in July. Towards the end of summer blackberries are ready in the woods. We have several areas we go to pick. Can’t get much better than that.
