Autumn… season of mists, mellow fruitfulness… and muddy pawprints!!

I’ve been really busy this week with Issue 10 of the magazine (with another free gift for subscribers), and am very pleased with how it turned out.  And as these bunny DOW blocks didn’t make it to the mag (it was stuffed full already!) I thought that I’d give them to all my blog readers instead!  So here they are …

Here in Devon autumn is well-advanced.  The nights are drawing in, the log store is full, and across the hall floor track large brown muddy paw-prints.  Yes, it has been raining – very hard indeed – and Ben has been in the garden.  He has very ticklish paws which he hates having wiped and consequently tries very hard to evade capture when he re-enters the house!  But, putting the paw-print problem to one side, autumn is a favourite time for me.  I love the smokiness in the air, the colours of the foliage and the longer evenings when I can snuggle down by the fire with stitching, knitting, or a good book.

And if you’re in need of a good book, then I thought you might like to hear about my “Little Book of Hints & Tips for Stitchers”.  This is the abridged paperback version of my popular online book “The Stitcher’s Companion“.  I decided to produce this paperback version after receiving a number of emails asking for a “real” book, one that the reader could turn down corners, drop in the bath (if they must!) and give to someone as a stocking filler for Christmas.  It’s listed in my Etsy Shop for just $10 plus p&p.  Please do pop across and take a look

Now I’m off to Dartington, Totnes for a girly day out.  My stitching friend Julie and I are off to an applique exhibition there, followed by lunch … and the sun’s shining too – what could be nicer?!
