I know I’ve said it before, but at the risk of being boring (sorry) I will say it again – one of my very-most favourite parts of the Magazine is meeting lots of very talented people who create all kinds of lovely products. And this month we loved talking to Lauren of the Paper Doily Party Shop under our “Dream It, Do It” banner where we find out more about those inspiring folk who give up their day jobs to follow their dreams.
And I particularly love finding out about other areas of creativity as well as sewing, textiles and other fibre arts. Lauren’s business started in an amazing way – when she got married! Her wedding wasn’t only the beginning of married life, it also sowed the seeds of her successful online business, Paper Doily Party Shop. Whilst she was planning her wedding last year, Lauren discovered she absolutely loved researching, sourcing and buying party products. Indeed she was so good at it, that several of her guests made comments on her decorations, describing her reception as “magical.” It was then that she realised she’d found something incredibly enjoyable and that she never wanted the party to end.
Lauren handmakes her products at her home near Bath, and stocks a wide variety of designs including stickers, crocheted garlands, pom pom garlands, felt ball garlands, wreaths, cupcake toppers, cake toppers, washi tape pegs, paper straws, gift tags, table decorations, wedding favours and much more.
