The festive countdown has begun here at Bustle & Sew HQ! Rhubarb and Custard (our Airbnb shepherd’s huts) are now closed for the season, the leaves have fallen from the trees, and last night we had a most enjoyable Bonfire Night with Rosie and her family. There were sparklers and rockets, hot dogs and toasted marshmallows, and the dogs were kept inside with the radio playing at top volume so weren’t upset by the noise at all. Luckily there’s no livestock kept near our house, and the chickens were fast asleep, so nobody was at all worried or frightened by the noise. And now Bonfire Night is behind us it’s time to step up the pace on my Christmas stitching!
Over the years I’ve shared a number of free Christmassy patterns, with one of the most recent (and also one of my favourites) being my little Christmas Goose ornament which you can download from the free patterns page here.
This is an especially busy period of course when time is at a premium, which is why I was delighted to discover these free Swiss darning patterns from DMC..
DMC don’t just offer the holly leaves shown above, they also include gingerbread man and candy cane Swiss darning patterns as well as some easy cross stitch and felting ideas. It’s well worth taking a look if you’re looking for some Christmas gift ideas. CLICK HERE to visit their free patterns page.
Whilst if you’re looking for a gift idea for a keen stitcher, then my Wheel of the Year panels are in stock on Etsy at a very affordable £14 including free UK delivery. I’m now shipping to the US again, though this does of course cost more as I’m currently only sending tracked while I’m not sure everything has settled down again. CLICK HERE to learn more.
