I absolutely adored stitching Alice – so much in fact that I am planning a whole series of these little girls using a variety of different stitches, though all will have lovely long hair (and they may bring a few friends along with them too). Alice is the first of these. She measures 5” tall approx and is shown mounted in a 7” x 5” oval hoop. Her face is a tiny piece of pale pink linen, everything else is stitched.
Please be aware that this is not a beginner’s project, but is a great (and really enjoyable) challenge for the more experienced stitcher.
Pattern includes full size transfers, DMC floss requirements and full stitching instructions with lots of extra help to stitch the more unfamiliar stitches. These include banded stem stitch, picot ring stitch, couched filling stitch, basket weave stitch, ghiordes knot stitch, and long looped stitch for the hair.
