I remember mum Mum had a saying when I was a child – “if you can’t be pleasant, be silent” and I think this hand embroidery hoop reflects her point of view! It’s great if you can always be a nice person of course – but if like me you’re only human(!) this design is a pretty way to remind you to keep trying!
It uses a variety of stitches including satin stitch, French knots, bullion stitch and ghiordes stitch so isn’t perhaps for the complete beginner, but would suit someone with a little more experience.
