Botanical Dandelion

$5.00

Description

I often think that if dandelions weren’t so quick to self seed and happy to grow anywhere then we’d be regarding them as a valuable crop rather than a weed – after all parts of a dandelion (other than the stems) are edible.

I’ve always loved those old botanical school room charts showing the different stages of a dandelion, and I’ve tried to reflect their botanical style in this design. This probably isn’t a beginner’s pattern but would be a satisfying project for those at a more intermediate level.

Stitches used include back stitch, French knots, ghiordes (or turkey knot) stitch, split stitch, straight stitch. Diagrams are included for the less familiar stitches.

Pattern includes DMC floss requirements, full size templates and stitching instructions.

Shown mounted on 18cm x 24cm artist’s canvas board

Please note this listing is for a digital pattern to stitch your own dandelion and not the finished item.
