I think this might perhaps be my favourite pattern of all time. After all .. a Celebration … with cake … applique and bunting – and no calories at all! – what could be nicer!?
Freestyle machine applique works well with some touches of simple hand embroidery to give you a really special result. The cake topper letters are printed onto fabric using a basic bubblejet printer and transfer paper, but you could stamp, embroider or even applique your own.
I’ve mounted my finished picture within a recycled picture frame, but you could just as easily mount it on an artist’s canvas block. My frame was a little taller and narrower than standard but a 16” x 12” frame or block would work well.
