It’s been a very long time since I stitched an Advent Calendar – at least six years I think, back when my little grandson Freddie first began to understand all about Christmas. So I thought it was about time I created another one!
This calendar is all about the Christmas garland – 24 numbers, each surrounded by a different garland – no two the same. They are stitched onto cream linen with a single strand of floss in just three colours and measure just under 2” in diameter.
If you don’t want to make these very simple little bags, formed by appliquing the numbers to fabric then folding over to make a pouch, then you could mount or stitch them onto small stocking shapes, pockets or even use them to decorate small boxes that contain your Advent treats – the choice is yours!
