I began this hoop in the middle of May and loved stitching it over the last few weeks of spring as the trees around our house blossomed and faded again whilst the fresh spring green of their leaves began to deepen to the darker hues of summer.
The stitching on this design is very dense, and probably isn’t suitable for a beginner, though an intermediate stitcher should be able to tackle with confidence.
Stitches used are bullion stitch, couched filling stitch, satin stitch, basket weave stitch, chain stitch and French knots. Stitch diagrams and full instructions are given for the more unfamiliar stitches and there are additional photographs of the finished piece.
