“I had a little nut tree, nothing would it bear, but a silver nutmeg and a golden pear.” I’m sure many of us are familiar with the old nursery rhyme, and though the King of Spain’s daughter hasn’t ever been to visit me, I have enjoyed a number of pears from the tree in our garden this year.
Over the years I have used shading techniques on animal fur, but had never tried to do so on fruit before and I’m really quite pleased with the result. I was surprised how many colours there actually were on what I thought was a simple fruit, when I actually properly looked at it.
