Anyone who thinks English garden birds are brown and boring will definitely think again when they see this brightly coloured goldfinch. A charm (just love this collective noun!) of goldfinches visit my garden every autumn and strip my holly tree of its berries – I do sometimes wish they would wait until after Christmas!
This project is suitable for confident beginners.
Stitches used are basket filling stitch, chain stitch, satin stitch, split stitch, straight stitch, turkey knot stitch. Instructions for working the more unfamiliar stitches are included in the pattern.
Shown mounted in 6” hoop.
