I remember going to visit my Auntie Kathleen when I was a very young child and being fascinated by her collection of Devonware pottery and all the mottoes. I remember one particular dish had the lines “What is this world if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare?” And I think the sentiment still holds true today, if not more so with the busy lives crammed with all kinds of activities, that we all live.
This quote carries the same resonance for me and is from Mother Teresa and it’s one I try to remember – to live each moment and enjoy it, if I can, for once it’s gone, it’s gone forever.
