When my little grandson Freddie was very young and came to me for Grandma Daycare, we would quite often visit the local garden centre to spend some time looking at the fish. The ornamental koi carp were some of his favourites, especially as sometimes he was allowed to help feed them.
This hoop reminds me of those days, though my carp are swimming freely in a lily point leaving trails of iridescent bubbles as they move. I painted the outer hoop dark blue to match the background fabric.
