Description
One of my all-time favourite traditional carols is “Hark the Herald Angels Sing” with its line “peace on earth and mercy mild” from which the quote on this hoop is taken. I chose to illustrate the text with a little pure white appliqued dove of peace holding her symbolic olive branch, and surrounded her with a garland of Mediterranean flowers and foliage rather than the more traditional holly and ivy found in northern regions. The large red flowers are also applique.
