Description
This little puffin was such fun to stitch – and while I was researching him I learned two very interesting (in my opinion) facts about these birds. Firstly, did you know that they moult their coloured beaks sporting a much duller version in winter, then regrowing the bright colours in time for the mating season? And secondly, their beaks are specially shaped so they can carry large quantities of sand eels facing in opposite directions nose to tail? Anyway, this little fellow is decorating a very useful storage hoop, perfect for keeping sewing tools – the seam ripper I can never find for example!
Shown in 10” hoop.
