I think laying her first egg must come of a bit of a surprise to any young hen – and this is how I imagined our brave explorer chicken (my little granddaughter’s description of her) might have looked when she produced her first smooth brown egg!
This isn’t a hard design to stitch, but you do need to be a little confident when blending colours together to achieve the shading in Poppy’s feathers.
