Description
In towns and cities pigeons can be pests, but the wood pigeon is a very different kind of bird. True they will steal your peas and beans if they can, but they are very beautiful birds I think with their pinkish grey breasts, smart dark grey stripes and yellow beaks. They are very clumsy creatures – quite delusional in fact – I’m sure they think they’re tiny delicate birds that can perch on the smallest twigs. They never seem to learn as they crash earthwards when the twig gives way beneath their plump bodies!
Wood pigeon measures 5” long x 4½” high (approx)
