In the December issue of Bustle & Sew Magazine we were delighted to feature an interview with Emily Primbs from Loomshakalaka. Emily lives in Northern Utah with her husband and two young girls. She creates playful textiles for her shop that are meant to be cuddled, snuggled and well loved!
We asked Emily if there was anything she wish she’d known before she started her business. She told us;
“How much goes into the business side of things, and I’m still trying to figure it out. You know the fun things like taxes, profit margins, promoting, creating a cohesive look and message. I really just want to make things!”
We also asked if she had any advice for someone wanting to start their own business…
“Don’t wait until you have everything figured out to go for it, or it might not ever happen. Focus on the quality of what you’re creating or offering and on engaging in the makers community. The friendships and connections you’ll make are so special and important. They will help motivate you, encourage you, share your work, and you can do the same for them. Community over competition!”
Be sure to visit Emily’s website and Instagram where you can check out all her gorgeous creations!
