In the April issue of Bustle & Sew Magazine we were delighted to feature an interview with Sandeep from Planes Workshop. Sandeep specialises in decorations and wearable accessories for children and babies as well as modern craft kits. She also focuses on prop design, creative workshops and DIY tutorials.
We asked Sandeep what has been her proudest moment so far, she told us;
“I got to appear alongside Kirstie Allsopp in her infamous Kirstie’s Handmade Christmas show. I was featured on the table decoration segment. It was the first time I stepped out as a craft based designer and a true highlight of my career. Kirstie was so lovely and made me feel at ease in front of the camera. Designing a Christmas table was so much fun and I just had a ball!”
We also asked Sandeep if she had any advice for anyone wanting to start their own business;
“Two big pieces of advice are; don’t compare yourself to others and prepare to do the work. Working solo is a lonely business and its easy to get sucked into thinking that you need to change it up and start making things that Instagram loves even though you have no real idea why you’re making it and it has nothing to do with the core of your business. There is space for everyone to succeed so don’t let your doubt sink your belief and hope.”
Do be sure to pop over to Sandeep’s shop to see all of her gorgeous creations. You can also find her on Instagram too!
