This week I’ve been really busy getting our second shepherd’s hut, little Custard, ready for his photoshoot. I say little, but he’s only very slightly smaller than Rhubarb and is, in my opinion, just as pretty…
I haven’t been neglecting my sewing though and there are five new projects to enjoy in the June edition of the Bustle & Sew Magazine that’s published on Thursday.
I’ve really enjoyed stitching all these projects and must admit I’d be hard-pushed to choose a favourite. I’m always looking out for different ways to use embroidery and think that the book covers work really well. They’re surprisingly easy to stitch and assemble with the assistance of my trusty pot of modge podge. The little Tuscan landscape took me back to holidays of years gone past, whilst the floral duck is a bit of a departure for Bustle & Sew – I had somebody particular in mind whilst stitching it!
The three little piggies project in the bottom left corner of the image above uses the freezer paper and inkjet printer transfer technique I talked about in the May Magazine. It was a bit of an experiment as I wanted to see if I could print text onto my linen fabric to incorporate it into my design. I’m delighted to be able to report that the experiment was completely successful and I already plan to use this technique next month too. I would add you don’t need a super-duper whizzy sort of printer to be able to do this – mine certainly isn’t – in fact it’s rather an elderly and very basic HP inkjet.
If you’re a subscriber the June Magazine will be delivered direct to your inbox on Thursday. If you’re not a subscriber and have been thinking of trying a subscription to the Bustle & Sew Magazine, now is the very best time to give it a go.
This is because for the next 48 hours only when you subscribe you will receive your first TWO issues for the price of one. That’s just $5.50 (£4.50 approx) for TWELVE Bustle & Sew Patterns, plus recipes, articles and features too.
