Cotton Spool Mouse Kit Giveaway

Cotton Spool Mice

Remember these cute little creatures?  The Cotton Spool Mouse family?  I’m starting my December giveaway season in style by giving away not one, but TWO Cotton Spool Mouse kits.  Each kit contains everything you need to make your very own little mouse….

Cotton Spool Mouse

… a vintage wooden spool for him to perch on, bakers twine for his tail and even a needle in case you don’t have one handy, all presented in a little cotton bag.  To be in with a chance to win one of these kits, then all you need to do is to leave a comment below and – just for fun (I love this bit!) – please tell me what you think a Cotton Spool Mouse would like best to nibble?

The winners will be chosen by random selection, and I will post worldwide.  The draw closes at midnight GMT on Friday 7 December.

Good luck everyone!!

ps: I would give him some of the wonderful old – old English cheese that is so expensive to buy here in Canada. Maybe one day I could bring him back to England and serve it to him there.

Reply

These are just too darling! I love the shape of these spools. Every sewing room needs a mouse–that will respect the thread and fabric and not eat it! LOL! I read you via your newsletter, but is there a way to have your blog posts delivered via email as well?

Twenty years ago, I wandered around the UK and Ireland doing museum research. My first stop out of Gatwick was Bath where I bought a handmade bitty fabric mouse. I carefully carried her around in my purse for the duration of my trip. I carefully cut out a circle in the lid of a film canister and her little bead nose just peeked out. Security in a couple of the museums thought I was a tad nutty but she was very good company. She still sits on my bookshelf keeping me company. I think she would enjoy company of her own!

I think he is adorable, I just love mice. Except when they go into my fabric shed, although the little guy that was in there in the summer did not do too much damage, as all my fabrics are stored in large plastic boxes. He however had got into a cardboard hamper box with some sunflower seeds and was having a lovely time, he got tipped out into the garden, and the shed got a thorough clean. The cute cotton reel mouse would not do any damage though as he could eat the ‘orts’ from my sewing projects.

My 3 year old grand-daughter , Molly, has a passion for mice at the moment, she tells me they are “cutier” than anything! When I asked her what they might like to nibble on, her answer was “the mouse can nibble on my fingers!” What a little treasure and she is also craft mad (yes even at 3 years of age) and would help me with this craft if we win.
