Ouch!

No, not ouch… more ow.. OW…OW OW OW!!!!!
I am an idiot!  Officially.  Of course I do know really that if I take a baking tray out of the Aga, then it will remain hot for some time.  So why did I try to pick up my tray of biscuits with my bare hands not more than 5 minutes after it came out of the oven?
Ben leapt out of the way as the tray (plus biscuits) crashed to the floor …. crumbs everywhere … I made a wild dash for the sink and spent the rest of the evening with my poor sore paws clutching a bag of frozen peas.  This morning my fingers are very red, with some blisters, so no knitting for me at present.  (Although I did manage a little gentle stitching).
And the batch of little bunnies I’m making for the Nostalgic Mix Fair in Totnes next month will have to wait a while for my blisters to heal.  Mind you – they do say that every cloud has a silver lining, and once Ben had recovered from the shock of the tray crashing to the floor, he did a very good job of hoovering up all the smashed biscuits!!

Oh dear, burns are just awful!! A little tip for you if you ever burn yourself again, which I'm sure you won't, spread egg white on the burn, it sooths and helps prevent blisters.
Your little bunnies are so cute. 🙂
And I have to say your hoover is the most handsome hoover I've ever seen!

Oh dear poor you. Hope the biscuits weren't too hot for Ben or he would have a burnt tum tum!

Oh how awful, your poor hands.
I have a large tube of Holland and Barrett Aloe Vera Gel by the side of my sink for such emergencies, it really does work.

Helen, I have done the very same thing before, and also taken to frozen peas! You poor love – I hope your blistered hand heals swiftly, and you can once again ply your craft!
Glad to hear that Ben's shock was dismissed by the biscuits… 😉

Another thing to remember if this ever happens again, remove any rings quickly, before your hand starts to swell.
I hope you are much better very soon.

Ow! I've done that before too! It is awful for our needlework loving hands to be out of commission! I do hope that they heal quickly!
