Brrrr….! It’s beginning to feel a little chilly up here on the Mendip Hills. The horse chestnuts are bare and I’ve been out with my brand new leaf blower happily blasting the crisp brown leaves into enormous heaps ready for taking down to the tip for composting. I have piled some into banks against the hedgerows too. I’ve read that hedgehogs love to both sleep in and rummage through garden debris and, as we don’t have very many hedgehogs around our house, I’d like to try to encourage them (though not into the parts of the garden where Alfie is free to roam!)
Yesterday we went into Bristol, to the Hippodrome, for a performance of Mary Poppins. Some shows have just a light sprinkling of magic but Mary Poppins virtually empties the carpetbag and, to quote the lady herself, is “practically perfect in every way!” It’s touring the UK at present and if you have the chance to go and see it I would totally recommend you to do so!
All the singing and dancing and beautiful costumes made me feel really quite Christmassy, especially as, even this early, there were plenty of festive lights to be seen in the city centre. So I thought that, as the countdown to Christmas is well underway, and Black Friday is looming, now would be the time to extend the Bustle & Sew sale on Etsy to offer 40% off all patterns and pattern collections….
The sale runs until the end of this month and I won’t be offering any further reductions on patterns – this is as good as it gets – so if you did want to stock up on Bustle & Sew designs, now is the very best time!
I’ve also put together a new and expanded guide “How to Transfer your Pattern,” a copy of which is included absolutely free with every embroidery pattern….
I’m hoping this will help answer stitchers’ most common query – especially those just starting out as I know that the thought of transferring a pattern from paper to fabric can feel quite daunting. The guide is automatically included with all embroidery patterns, and will be available to download along with the pattern when an order is placed.
