Many years ago I had a very energetic toddler called Rosie. On shopping trips she would wriggle, twist and fidget and I was always looking for new ways to entertain her – then … I found a little coat with pockets on the sleeves and little animals attached to the pockets. She loved them and would spend ages engrossed in their adventures as I pushed her around the local supermarket.
Now I must admit that making a whole coat is a bit beyond my skills so, inspired by that long-ago coat, I’ve created a woolly scarf design which I hope will appeal to a whole new generation of children.
The pocket features a cute little hedgehog off on his way to visit his friend who lives in the red spotty toadstool. And his friend is attached to the base of the pocket with ribbon so he can’t fall out and get lost along the way. He tucks in very cosily and there’s room for one or two other treasures too!
I haven’t listed the pattern yet, trying to take some good photos – it’s so grey and gloomy here today. Your description of the coat reminds me of my son's coat now, which is a Clothkits coat, it has lots of little pockets and stuffed toys to go in them, all on a farm theme.

Simply adorable. My favourite animal is the buffalo or North American bison. I don't know why except I used to draw them as a child. Perhaps it's because I watched those westerns as a child. A close second is the moose. Very majestic.
Now I have a dilemma, I was about to click "buy now" as I HAVE to make this for my god daughter, but then I might win it? What to do? No, you're right, I wont win it :0( so I'll click buy now. But just in case… my favourite animal is the bunny. I've got four and they each have a very different personality, they're so fluffy and cute and funny.

Great idea. I love how the hedgehog can't "fly the coup" with his leash. I love giraffes. I ask my 3 yr old every so often, what sound a giraffe makes. We get a kick out of the sounds he comes up with 🙂 Thank you for generosity with your pattern sale and the giveaway!

My favourite animal, now that is a hard one because I like so many. I have been collecting cow things since I was about 15 years old, so for about 19 years. Cows are just calm, cute and useful animals. I also love cats and Im a bit obsessed with snuggling with the two that I have. I could list a whole bunch of animals that I love but I think those are the top two.
What a lovely idea……I can imagine a whole menagerie of tiny soft animal friends to tuck into this cosy scarf. But my favourite has to be the hodgeheg, not a typo, my mum told me a long time ago that hodgeheg was my name for hedgehog, if I was lucky enough to win I would give it to my little grandaughter who I'm sure would absolutely love it.

My favourite animal … would have to be our dog named Kara. She is quite a handful and is not easy at all sometimes but she is the greatest dog ever with our kids! I love her for that even more!

My favorite animal is a turtle! They are super cute and always seem so thoughtful. Perhaps they're just so slow that they just APPEAR thoughtful, but I like to think that they know exactly where they're going and are just taking their time. 😉

How to pick a favourite animal….oh gosh golly…I'll just pick the Australian Central Bearded Dragon, as I'm looking at mine right now, and she's looking back. I love our Aussie reptiles!! Beardies are so interactive, and just as intelligent as dogs, without the noise and mess! And no one I know is allergic to scales! And feeding them is just the most fun thing I do during my daily routine! I can't really describe how much I love them, unless you own one and love them too! lol

My favorite critters are hedgehogs. I have a collection of 27 stuffed hedgies. There are some made of crystal and pewter too. Here in the U.S. there are no hedgehogs except those kept as pets so I've never seen a live one. I love your little scarf pattern.

Such a cute scarf! I think my 2 year old would love it. He loves playing with his stuffed animals and is now starting to use things to pretend. I think my favorite animal is either a fox or a deer. We see lots of deer in our backyard and it never gets old. On special occasions the fox shows up and that's a real treat!
I most certainly have a little monster at home who sounds very similar to Rosie, constantly on the go! My favourite animals are doggies, my little white one is lots of fun.

I'm so glad I discovered your blog! So many pretty, pretty things! You're a real artist!!! Beautiful scarf too, especially with the mushrooms on it! I have never seen a mushroom with a red 'roof'(?) and white spots, you know which one I mean, well, on pictures, yes, but never in 'real life'. Probably the reason why I love these so much. My favourite animal is a moose, love their faces, love the antlers, love the way the mommy moose takes care of her babies and… also never seen one in 'real life' so, there you go!

My favorite animal was our old kitty Hobbes. He was very loving and sweet. Too cute! Our very energetic 18 month old grandgirl needs a scarf like that! She loves holding a blankie around her shoulders and walking around!
OOOooo, that's a hard question! I love them all. I suppose I really love overall, british wildlife, red squirrels, and bunnies, and hedgehogs and doormice!
They all remind me of my very bookish childhood, where I would lose myself in my den built with blankets and cushions behind the settee, a beaker (remember those tall plastic beakers?) of squash, and a couple of digestives with my Beatrix Potter an Enid Blyton books.
Oh, I wish life was that simple now 🙂

Oh dear, how can I choose a favorite animal? I'm crazy for all animals. Of course I do have a very special place in my heart for Newfoundland dogs. But then I must quickly add that I love horses and kitties and chickens and lions and tigers and bears…oh my!
