Description
I know the correct name is Pelargonium, but my mum always used to call these colourful flowering plants geraniums and the habit has remained with me over the years. Putting my geraniums outside once all danger of frost has passed is for me a sign that summer really has arrived. This little geranium sits in a terracotta coloured applique pot and uses just three easy stitches – back stitch, satin stitch and stem stitch. The flowers are stitched in variegated floss which gives a lovely dappled effect to the flowers, rather as though they were sparkling in the summer sun.
Shown mounted in 6” hoop.
