I am the proud owner of a (very) small flock of chickens who have brought me a great deal of pleasure as well as a bountiful supply of fresh eggs over the last few months. And so I thought it was time to progress a design that I’d been thinking about for some time – a little felt chicken head.
I made the tiniest of hens, measuring just 3” tall and mounted her on an individual size
vintage pie tin. Why not make a whole flock in this size and mount on one board? I may well do that haha! But, just in case you’d like a larger chicken head, I have also included templates for making a 5” tall head.
This project is very straightforward, the only slightly fiddly bits being inserting beak and wattles. The head is entirely stitched by hand.
Pattern includes full size templates, material requirements and full instructions to make up your chicken head. Please note this is a pattern to stitch your own chicken head and not the finished item. It is a digital pattern and you will not receive anything in the post. Your pattern will be emailed to you and will also be available to download from your Bustle & Sew account when your order is complete.
