Yesterday Townie Husband took me out for lunch in Totnes. Afterwards I spent a happy hour wandering around the little shops at the top end of the High Street, enjoying some time off from my busy preparations for the Nostalgic Mix Fair in (gulp!) just three weeks time.
My cupboard is filling up …
But I think I still need more. So yesterday I was wandering with a purpose, looking for inspiration, when I saw some hedgehog pin cushions. Which, through a rather convoluted mental process(!), brought to mind the mouse pin cushions my mum used to make many years ago.
Rather like these …..
They are sooo easy to make, just two pieces for the body, plus tail and ears. They are weighted with rice at the base so they stand up nicely and make great ornaments as well as pin cushions. I’ve put the pattern and instructions together for you – and you can download it for free – it’s in my pattern library – please see the buttons at the top of the page or in the sidebar – you’ll find loads of patterns listed there.
And today we all went down to the beach …
Where Rosie and Ben played some very silly chasing games ….
Trying to keep warm! Brrrrrrrrrr…. penetrating easterly – where has that spring sunshine gone?
Love the mice – printed it off to make some!

I love the pretty little mice, especially the pink one with the flowery pattern ears and tail! How nice to live so near to Totnes and those lovely little shops. Have a great week.

How wonderful, thank you for sharing. They some how take me back and so do your beach pictures. They remind me of Chesil Beach between Portland and Wyke Regis (where my Grandma lived).
Thanks for sharing these dinky mice. I can't wait for the weekend to forage for fabric to make a couple for my daughters.

So cute – my only question now is … HOW can you put needles in these cute guys??? I am not sure I could … they are just too darn cute!
😉
These are the cutest mice! And I wouldn't mind having them in my house. Thank you.

Thanks for the mice pattern. This looks so cute and easy to do. I might actually get one made! The beach looks chilly but invigorating.
These are adorable and will make sweet gifts for friends. Thank you for sharing your idea, and your pattern. I appreciate it.
OH these are the cutest things ever! They remind me of the mouse stuffed animal I made for my baby sister… way back in the 70's… (shhhh! don't tell anyone how old I am.) I'll have to try out your pattern!
🙂
Wanna have a little laugh?
Yesterday I decided to make a little mouse from your pattern … but while cutting out the pattern I had this idea to make a rabbit instead of a mouse …
Well, let's just say that just changing the ears to rabbit ears does not make a rabbit! You can check out the whole story – with pics – here

I linked to your pattern, too!
Next time I make it I will just use the pattern! 🙂
