I Saw Three Ships Table Runner

“I saw three ships come sailing in,

Come sailing in, come sailing in,”

I saw three ships come sailing in,

On Christmas Day in the morning ..”

This traditional English carol is very popular and I am sure will be familiar to many reading this … and it was the inspiration for this freestyle machine embroidery table runner.

Freestyle machine embroidery isn’t difficult – but this table runner probably isn’t a beginner’s project – the pieces are quite small and there are a number of layers to apply in the right order.

But .. having said that … the pattern is fully illustrated and if you’ve tried freestyle machine embroidery before, then you’ll discover that it’s really very straightforward to create a really lovely professional-looking result.  This table runner will take more time and patience than anything else – there aren’t any complicated techniques to master.  The patchwork border is very simple – using squares from a charm pack and there isn’t any quilting, just topstitching around the edges.

Your finished table runner will measure 50″ x 18″ (approx)
