Free Hoots! Owl Pattern and Accuquilt Go!Baby Cutter Giveaway

If you’ve been reading my blog for a while, you might perhaps remember my joy at discovering I could produce consistently beautiful hexagons with my new Accuquilt Go!Baby Cutter.  In fact my Charlie the Patchwork Elephant Pattern featuring patchwork hexagons proved to be one of my most popular designs ever …
Those with sharp eyes may have spotted that my Candy Cone Mouse pattern in this month’s Bustle & Sew Magazine also features beautiful regular hexagons ….
And now … sent free to newsletter and magazine subscribers …. here is Hoots the Baby Owl!!
He is a very retro-feeling owl in 1970s shades of brown and gold, inspired by the autumn colours of the English countryside.  He’s not a difficult make, and I have spotted that owl patterns are very popular at present – so he’d make a great gift for a style-conscious friend (or to keep for yourself!).
If you’d like your very own free Hoots the Baby Owl pattern, and you’re not already a free newsletter (or paid magazine) subscriber, then just hop over to the right-hand sidebar and subscribe to either publication and your free Hoots pattern will be sent straight tu-whit to-you! (sorry!)
And finally …. Accuquilt have very kindly offered me a Go!Baby Cutter with your choice of 3 dies to give away to one of my blog readers, so you too can make perfect hexagons – or any one of lots of other shapes too.  This is a fantastic prize – I know that I love my Go!Baby Cutter.  The cutter will be sent direct to the winner by Accuquilt … and should arrive in time to help you with your Christmas sewing.
All you need to do to enter this free competition to win a Go!Baby Cutter is to leave a comment below.  The competition will be open for one week, and the winner will be chosen by random selection on Saturday 22 October (BST).  Just for fun, please tell us what you most enjoy about the autumn months.  Good luck everyone!!

Oh I love autumn baking! Pumpkin anything! And the leaves falling as the wind blows. My favorite season by far!

I love the Autumn. It's my very favorite season. I love the changing leaves, the cooler temps, the long walks in wool sweaters kicking the crunching leaves ahead of me, jackets, scarfs, and the scent of wood fires and hot soup and bread baking. But I think my favorite part is the slowing down of time. The days become shorter, and I pull out my knitting and sewing and become creative. A Go!Baby Cutter would be such a wonderful tool! Thank you for the opportunity to win one!

Autumn, that time of year when the outside world starts to slow down, we can look forward to spending more time with our families and of course being creative with all the wonders of nature–sticks, leaves, pumpkins, gourds–The colors, smells and flavors too.

Hi, Helen!! boy, is Hoots cute! I will be making him, as our last name translates to English as From the Owl – neat, eh? And Lord willing, we will have a new grandbaby by the end of next April, so it would make a wonderful toy or pillow for the little one. I also thank you for the chance to win the Go! cutter and dies.
I love the colours and smells of Autumn, short as it is here in western Canada. The skies seem bluer, too, and the Canada Geese honking as they gather is wonderful to hear, even though we know their departure ushers in winter.

Oh, I want one of those cutters so badly! Thank you for the chance! What I love more about autumn is the whole thing: Cool breeze through the changing leaves; all our farm visits for animal petting, pumpkin picking, corn mazing, and hay riding; and not-too-scary Halloween fun at Boo at the Zoo and my town's local Pumpkinfest. I love all of it! My favorite season.

Autumn is my favorite time of the year. I am a desert dweller, Mohave Desert, Northwestern Arizona and there are no trees with glorious changing colors. Nice cactus, but no trees. Well, there are Joshua trees. Not the same! My friends send me pictures of autumn leaves in Colorado and Pennsylvania. I save magazines with autumn themes. I buy pumpkins and gourds. I decorate with gold, reds and brown colors. If I can`t have autumn outside, I bring it inside! Thank you for offering this fabulous giveaway and I enjoy your magazine tremendously.

Helen, the Autumn months here in Nw Zealand are a beautiful symphony of colours. There is nothing nicer than the crispness of the early morning and the crunch of walking through the park with all of the leaves beneath your feet. To be honest, what I most enjoy about the autumn months is putting the heating on in the evening. Second favourite thing is not being woken up early in the morning by the sun through my window at 6am (is that really lazy?).

Your hexi owl is sooooo cute. He's on my long list of things to make. I love sewing by the fire in the long evenings.

Having arrived to the US from an island climate, I do love the warm colors of the Autumn. The way the siennas turn into corals which turn into brilliant yellows. It's absolutely breathtaking. It inspires one to go back to sewing and creating beautiful projects for this time of year

Gorgeous owl, many thanks. I think the Accuquilt looks fab and would make projects like this so much easier and quicker.
Autumn is lovely, because the air is crisper and it seems to make the home more cosier. A good excuse for more crafting.!

I guess I am too late … but just in case I am not I am trying my luck! ๐Ÿ™‚

To be honest – I have read so much about this Cutter … I am really curious how useful it would be to me!

Oh, and there are TONS of things I love about autumn – most probably the cooler weather, having hot tea is way more fun than in summer, plum cake, beautiful colored trees …. ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a good autumn day!

Thanks for the great pattern. I hate to see summer go but in the fall I can make lots of different kinds of soup and bread and look at the changing leaves.

I love the smells, colors and tastes of autumn! I especially love it because it is the end of long, hot summers here in Arizona!
