Sweet Home Applique Journal Cover Free Tutorial

Ah .. home sweet home. I didn’t post last week as we were away for my daughter’s 21st birthday. She’s at university in Bristol so Townie Husband and I spent the night up there. It was lovely to see her and we had a wonderful time, but I do love being here at home in Devon. And, I should like to know, why are students all so tall? Rosie’s friends are lovely youngsters, but I felt very short indeed.

Just lately at home we’ve been decorating and having one or two things done around the house. It struck me that it would be supremely well-organised of me to make notes of things like paint colours, and jot down builders’ names and guarantees. But how to make sure I did this? A special book was required – so I came up with my “Sweet Home” applique journal cover to make a very ordinary spiral-bound notebook look rather special.

I hope you like it too – just click here for the free tutorial to make one of your own.

I’m very proud of this image of my journal. I’m not a very good photographer and struggle to take good pictures. So when I was given the photo below of some paper bunting I made for a wedding I decided to try the same idea as the professional photographer and take the picture sort of sideways on. I think it works rather well, do you?

Happy sewing everyone x
