Summer’s End and a New Pattern Collection

Yes, today here in the UK the clocks have gone back … and so we finally have to admit to ourselves that summer really is at an end.  I have put the covers over my garden furniture and tonight as I took the potato peelings out to compost the moon shone brightly through the almost-bare branches of the tall tree at the end of my garden – telling me it’s going to be cold tonight.  Underfoot there are leaves to crunch through (a particular favourite of Freddie in his lovely new red wellington boots) and after several days of heavy rain there is mud to wallow in too – this of course is a particular favourite of the Newfies – and especially that naughty Miss Daisy!

I think she is actually drinking the muddy water in this picture!  Sometimes I despair!  As well as keeping myself busy washing mud off badly behaved dogs, I’ve been stitching madly ready for the Etsy Made Local Fair in Bristol next month.  Bustle & Sew hasn’t been to a fair for a very long time, but I do remember that pin cushion mice were always very popular in the past, so I’m beginning a new selection of these little creatures.  Here are the first two, all wrapped up against the colder weather and looking forward to Halloween ….

I’d forgotten how much fun they are to stitch!  I’m wondering whether to offer pin cushion mice kits at the fair too – they’re a great make for children and would be fun stocking fillers I think.  If you’re in the Bristol area then please do make a note in your diary ….

And in among everything else I’ve been busy putting a new collection of Bustle & Sew patterns together.  This is our first new collection for some time, and is a collection of fresh and uncluttered designs that use both hand embroidery and applique techniques. There are projects to suit all ability levels and I’ve also included chapters on machine applique and embroidering fur that I hope readers will enjoy too.

I have been sewing all my life, whilst Bustle & Sew is now nearly nine years old, and over that time whilst fashions and trends have come and gone my love of stitching has remained constant throughout – though the patterns I create have definitely changed over the years. I love the fresh, clean look of modern design trends, and I do hope you’ll enjoy making the projects from this book as much as I have enjoyed collecting them all together.

There are 10 projects in this collection and for one week only it’s available at the special introductory price of just $10.  That’s a 20% reduction on the usual price.  If you’d like to learn more, then please just CLICK HERE to find it in the Bustle & Sew store.  You don’t need a coupon as the price is already reduced instore.
