Dream it, do it .. Cloud Craft

contrib03

This month we were delighted to welcome Nicole of Cloud Craft to the Bustle & Sew Magazine.  We chatted to Nicole as part of our “Dream it, Do it” series where we talk to successful small business women (we haven’t had a man yet, but are open to suggestions!) who have successfully left paid employment to set up their own craft-based enterprises.

Like so many of  our entrepreneurs and makers Nicole has always loved making things, a passion she shares with many of the other women in her family who were always stitching, knitting or crocheting and were happy to pass these skills on.

Cloud Craft was founded in 2012 when Nicole became disillusioned with the felt she was purchasing from a local haberdashery store to make toys for her children.  She was pouring time and love into her creations but was disappointed when they became worn and bobbly really quickly.  She did some research and heard people on blogs raving about 100% wool felt. Having previously been unaware of the existence of this felt she gave it a go and realised it was indeed so much better than the felt she’d been using. But, there was a problem – it was tricky to get hold of and this sparked the beginnings of an idea for what would eventually become Cloud Craft.

Today, as well as 100% wool felt, Nicole stocks all kinds of other goodies over at Cloud Craft, including floss, kits, hoops, trims, buttons and more besides.  If you’d like to take a look, then please do pop over to Cloud Craft and take a look at all her lovely stock.  You can keep up to date with all Nicole’s news over on the Cloudcraft Facebook page, enjoy her images over on Instagram, and read our full interview with Nicole in the November issue.

Thanks so much Nicole, for being a part of the Bustle & Sew Magazine.
