Meet the Maker: Peonie Cole

I think I have mentioned before that one of my most favouritest parts of the magazine is our new “Meet the Maker” feature where we get to chat to some super-talented people.  (Next month in the bumper Christmas issue we will be chatting to TWO makers!) But back to the present – and our current issue – which features the very lovely Catherine Beaumont of Peonie Cole.

Inspired by the beautiful Scottish Borders Countryside and Northumbrian Coastline, Catherine creates beautiful fabrics, homeware and cards featuring her hand ainted designs that celebrate the colour and beauty of British nature.  Her work is so delicate and appealing, and I am so excited that she will shortly be offering her fabrics for sale as well as her own handmade items.

You can currently purchase fabric samples from her site – perfect to add a little something special to your patchwork and quilting projects.  I’m not sure if my favourite is the deer or the hare – I might need both!   All Peonie Cole designs are hand-painted by Catherine before being printed onto fabric using a digital print process which retains the colourful ‘just painted’ feel of her designs. Catherine is proud to design, print and hand-make all of her products in the UK.  Read more about Catherine over on her site and while you’re there do be sure to check out some of her other lovely products ….

Those Christmas bunnies are almost unbearably cute – think I know which cards I’ll be sending this Christmas!
