I must admit I do enjoy a nice bit of baking, and I am lucky to have hungry family and friends who are more than willing to test the results. We featured these lovely Jam Crumble Bars from Striped Spatula in the July magazine and everybody has voted them a complete winner!
Striped Spatula is an amazing food blog that celebrates fresh ingredients in both quick fix and gourmet recipes across a variety of cuisines. It is the creation of Amanda who published Striped Spatula from her New Jersey kitchen where her sweet miniature Dachshund puppy Chloe can usually be found camped out in front of the oven when something is baking. We’re having a little get-together this weekend and I’m very tempted to make Amanda’s guacamole …
.. but will have to see how the time goes. If not this weekend, then definitely another time. We’re off to the Village Fete tomorrow, my first one here, and it sounds very good with a jazz band, animal petting corner, various stalls and games as well as dog agility – a demonstration as well as the chance to try it with your own dog. I’m trying to persuade Rosie that Tilly would LOVE to have a go, she’s so agile and energetic! But I digress ….
