Meet the Maker: Wild Ona

In the November issue of Bustle & Sew Magazine we were delighted to chat to Kris from Wild Ona. Founded in 2018, Wild Ona is a family-owned eco-friendly brand with a mission to eliminate plastic waste and unnecessary harsh ingredients from haircare products.

Kris shared her advice for anyone wanting to start their own business…

“I started Wild Ona with a very small budget. However, I’m happy I did because there are so many things to learn along the way. I once got more confident and ordered 1000 boxes for my shampoo bars. They turned out to be the wrong boxes, so I’ve lost a lot of money there. My advice is to really start small and test everything first before making bigger investments.”

We also asked Kris if she could share her top tips for living more sustainably. She told us;

“If you would like to live more sustainably, remember it is not about being perfect, but about small changes that you’re comfortable with at that time. It took us 2 years to switch to a plastic free bathroom! To anyone who is interested in making their own products, I think a good start is a body butter or a natural deodorant cream. They are easy to make, and recipes can be easily modified to suit individual needs.”

Do be sure to head over to Kris’ website where you can find all of her gorgeous products, you can also find her on Instagram too!
