Rosie Posie Cover .. it’s late …I’m tired ..

It’s late … I’m tired … it’s been a very mixed sort of weekend. There has been good – the Parish Fete at Stokenham and there has also been very bad – I really thought I was going to lose Amy on Saturday.

We had an emergency visit to the vet and she’s been given the final level of medication available to her. She’s feeling better today, but still extremely tired and washed out. Although she has retired from being a competition at the fete I had been planning to take her along to meet her fans again, but sadly this couldn’t happen. At least she’s comfortable now though and still with me.

I had also been planning to write up a tutorial for the Three Little Kittens needle roll I made earlier this week – that’s it above – and if you look carefully you can see a crochet radish – yes – I think I’ve finally mastered basic crochet at last. I’m making some radish corsages to go with last week’s carrots – just right for those keen gardeners amongst us.

But, after the vet and the fete and my stint on the scales at our local fruit farm where I’m helping out by weighing the pick your own strawberries (and being paid in fruit and vegetables -yum!) I felt washed out and unable to concentrate on detailed instructions. So I decided to write up a brief tutorial for a really really easy journal cover. This one’s slightly different in that it’s made in felted blanket and is all sewn by hand. The blue blanket I used felted extremely well. Unfortunately I was not trying to felt it at the time! Never mind, it’s coming in handy for all sorts of projects.

And yes, I’ve been playing with my wonderful stash of felt from Annie at the Felt Fairy again – those colours are simply irresistible! Hope you like the cover – you can download it free by clicking here .

Will have to have another giveaway soon – and bring back the canine random biscuit selector! Amy so loved choosing the winning biscuit …. I’ll just have to decide on the prize – check back next week for more information – and until then – I’ll leave you with a photo of the owner of the biscuit selecting paw….

Amy!!

Sorry to hear about Amy's visit to the vet. It must have been very traumatic. All you can do is love her and care for her which is obviously what you do. Our thoughts are with you all.
The little book cover is lovely. I really like the colour combination. Have to find a blanket I can shrink, not hard believe me!

Dear Amy! She's so beautiful! I'm sorry that she's taken a turn but I know in my heart she's comfortable and at peace. She's obviously lived a wonderful life and we both know the Newfies only want to love and be loved….and Amy has that. Please give her a gentle hug and pat from me and my three newfies send wet kisses to her too.

Your needlework always wows me. Beautiful, BEAUTIFUL work as always.

Cheers!

I'm a little behind with blog-reading so have only just got to your post – I'm so sorry to hear Amy is unwell, it's so, so stressful. I know as our last cat Newton had to be rushed suddenly in as an emergency, then I had to leave him there and never thought I'd see him again. So you have my heart-felt sympathy. We were relieved when he came home and he was able to stay with us for a few more weeks being loved and stroked. Amy is beautiful and I hope she stays feeling comfortable. xx

Just terrific. I have a couple projects with felted wool (in the works). Tho, the ones I have are much simpler … beginners projects
