Pin Cushion Mice are Back! A Giveaway for You!

As I think I may have mentioned before – probably quite a few times(!) – I really love this time of year.  The countryside is so beautiful as some leaves and berries still remain in the hedgerows, picked out by the rays of the low sun, whilst crisp days make walking a delight.  Last week Freddie and I spent some time in one of our favourite places – the Bishop’s Palace Gardens in Wells where we were very excited to be able to get up close to some of the swans ……

This year’s babies are as big as their parents now and quickly gaining their adult plumage.  There were still some late flowers to enjoy – the Japanese Anemones were such beautiful pinks – rather like summer roses.  I’m not sure that plump green succulent will be there for much longer however as frosts are forecast this week. I’m lucky to have beautiful colours in my own garden too – the top left picture above was taken from my bedroom window looking out across my garden and the beautiful Japanese Maple tree that overlooks my conservatory that seems to almost glow with colour in the sunshine.

Although it’s nice to be outside enjoying these sparkling autumn days, it’s also lovely to snuggle down in front of the log burner with some stitching as the evening draws in, often with a snoozing Miss Daisy at my feet ….

“helping” me with Wilderness Bears ready for the Etsy Made Local Sale in Bristol next month.  We are going to have all kinds of Bustle & Sew goodies on our stand, including the Wilderness Bears of course as well as one of my all-time favourites – Pin Cushion Mice!

And I’m delighted to say that we now have a supply of these lovely autumn/winter themed little Pin Cushion Mice kits available to purchase (in plenty of time for Christmas giving). Just CLICK HERE to find them in-store.

To celebrate their return we’re also holding a giveaway for one of these kits.  If you’d like to enter (it’s free) then please just click below. Lovely pictures, I too love this time of year. Your Japanese Anemones are beautiful, I have lots of white ones, I need to find some pink ones too. Thanks for all your great tips and ideas. Those mice are so precious.

Thanks Mary – I don’t have any myself either, they don’t seem to grow well in my new garden, though I had lots – both pink and white – in my old garden in Devon xx

I love the pin cushion mice. I made a few a couple of years ago to give as gifts for Christmas and they were cherished for their cuteness and the fact they had been handmade with love.

They are so cute I know Ruth – I made my first probably around 45(!) years ago now – with a lot of help from my mum!

They are just so, so cute…and I clicked the home page, and I love the little cat down in the lower right corner. I guess you would call it a flag? Not sure.

Aw thanks so much Rose – I have called that pennant “Freddie’s Cat” as it’s now hanging in his playroom. I’m hoping to release the pattern early next year xxx
