Autumn Musings

And … just like that … it’s autumn!  Autumn started here, in fact, at 12 noon on Tuesday 22 September!  Monday was a gloriously warm and sunny day and so Rosie, Florence and I headed off to the beach at Weston super Mare.  The tide was out, and it was warm enough to paddle…..

Not a cloud in the sky!  On Tuesday morning I awoke to the most beautiful sunrise over misty fields – the sun was a majestic orange-red orb in the east and the air still held some summer warmth.  But by noon the sky had clouded over, the temperature dropped and a chill wind sent me scurrying to look for a jumper!

So recently golden with stubble and basking in the warmth of a summer sunset is now ploughed and brown, awaiting the next planting….

In the first of these views across the field you can see our house in the distance and our two new shepherd’s huts.  These were lifted in by crane a couple of weeks ago…

On what was a VERY exciting day!  They have now been named Rhubarb and Custard – and I’ll be posting updates here as we begin to fit them out.  And finally, the October edition of the Bustle & Sew Magazine was published yesterday, so if you’re a subscriber you should have received yours already…..

How quickly Florence has grown!
I’m looking forward to future postings regarding your new shepherd’s huts. They’re lovely!

She is growing so quickly, I don’t know where the time has gone! We’re really looking forward to working on the shepherd’s huts (especially the interiors!) and will be sure to post our progress 🙂 Have a lovely week! Xx
