And the winner is …..

I am very sorry to be so late with the results of the Hedgehog scarf giveaway …. my internet connection has been terrible this last week, a combination possibly of the gales we had and also the building work going on opposite where the old barns are being converted into houses.  So for three days I had no access at all … and then it was very on and off.  But fingers crossed, normal service does seem to have been resumed.

And the winner is …. (oh, how I miss that black paw – the random number generator isn’t nearly so much fun) … number 11 – that’s Florrie, whose favourite animal is a hodgeheg!!  Love it Florrie – feel a new pattern coming on featuring this hitherto little known creature!  Please let me have your contact details and your scarf will soon be on its way to you.  (the pattern is available in my Etsy shop if you want to make your own) Thank you to everyone who entered, I really enjoyed reading about your favourite animals, mine of course must be a large black dog.

I should have been working this afternoon, the November newsletter must go out this week (or it will be December) but I took time out to walk around the Ley at Slapton.  It was a beautiful evening, and Ben decided to paddle ..

Though I was not at all tempted to join him.  And we saw …..

… a cormorant, sitting patiently on a post, mirrored in the still water of the Ley below.  And all the time we could hear the breakers crashing on the beach the other side of the bank.  But it was too cold to linger for long, and besides I need to finish the free pattern for my newsletter readers …

Another woodland Christmas design, but this time featuring children. I’ll light the fire tonight and toast my toes while I stitch……….

Sigh….. I'm so sorry! Congrats to the winner and to you for creating such beautiful things. Bye, Clara.

Slapton Ley is one of my favourite places. The place is amazing, the sea one side and the fresh water the other.

Hi Helen, I hope you don't mind but I have linked to your blog and shop on my blog. I used some of the product pictures from your Etsy shop. Please let me know if this is a problem and thanks so much for your lovely blog and wonderful newsletter.

What a lovely gift for me to find you here. I am truly going to enjoy all of your posts.
I'm enjoying the picture of your Newfie. Aren't they so special? We have THREE of them. Sometimes I question my sanity, but I wouldn't trade them for the world. I just need a fairy to clean up all of the fur!
