Giveaway .. win an Angel Pig Kit!!

Here are two little Angel Pigs.  They are rather round in shape with nice fat tummies and pink button noses.  They do not look very ethereal, and I’m not sure their wings would lift them very high from the ground.  But they are very cute and totally endearing.  The pattern to make them will be included in the December issue of the Bustle & Sew Magazine, along with the Muddle of Bunnies Rabbit Skittles, Rosie & Bear 2012 Journal Cover and more …

And in the meantime I’m offering one lucky blog reader the chance to win an Angel Pig kit.  It will contain the pattern, and all the materials needed to make the white pig on the left of the photo except for the stuffing.  So you’ll receive felt, ribbon, red gingham and floss plus of course a round pink button for his round pink nose.

To enter, please leave a comment below – and just for fun – it would be lovely to hear about your best Christmas present ever!! (I love reading all the comments).

The giveaway will close on Friday 25th November (very appropriate date) at midnight GMT and the winner (chosen by random selection) will be notified shortly afterwards.  I am happy to post overseas.

Oh … and don’t forget – if you haven’t stitched your Advent Calendar, there’s still (just about) time … find the Night Before Christmas Calendar pattern and more seasonal designs too on the Bustle & Sew website.

These are so cute! I remember as a child growing up in the late seventies /80's I always seemed to get loads of talc! What's that all about?! I do remember being over the moon with a little school desk that my dad had made for me with a lift up lid, which was filled with lots of colouring and activity books, crayons and crafty things. Kept me very busy and I felt very important sitting at my own personal little space! Hayley xx

OOOH , so cute , so unusual ! I want to win !) And my best Christmas present ever was a little teddy bear I got in 62 … I still have it !

I do love those pigs!
My favourite Christmas present as a child was a dolls house that my dad made for me. It was only many, many years later that I found out that he and my uncle were up til 6o'clock on Christmas morning trying to finish it with wallpaper and working lights (how posh!). He even looked surprised when I bounded in to him at 6.30 to show what Santa had brought me. Happy Days xx

I should imagine, stuffed with rice that these cute little pigs would make lovely door stops too!
.. my best christmas present ever? a beautiful basket of home made and decorated jams made by my husband, using blackberries and strawberries hand picked by my two young children 🙂 (and all as a surprise too!) – doesn't sound much but he's a mechanic!!

Ooh I really want a pig! hehe… Its hard to think what my best present was but was probably this amazing craft book by Martha Stewart. Everytime I feel a bit down I just have a flick through and it inspires me to start making something!

My best Xmas present ever, mmm…
Probably a little sewing machine that I got when I was about 8 or 9. It broke within a few weeks, so Father Christmas took it away and got me a train set to replace it! Two presents for the price of one! The sewing machine/train set dichotomy also explains a lot about me.
Love your blog by the way,

My best ever Christmas Present was a Sindy Dolls house back in 1981, I adored it and just cried for ages when I saw it was mine on Chrismtas Morning.

Is this a reflection of "when pigs fly". My favorite Christmas present was a dollhouse when I was around 8 or 10ish…my sister got a barn set, she was a bit horsey, I got the dollhouse, we found them and played and played then carefully put them back so that Santa could come with them, and we were as delighted as we were when we found them in our parents closet. I wish I still had that dollhouse, back in the days of metal dollhouses and plastic furniture. Oh to be a kid again. Whoever wins your angel pig, enjoy! We're never too old for stuffed animals or toys.

Very sweet! My favorite Christmas gift was a video that my daughter and grandchildren made with 5 generations of our family leading up to my sweet grandbabies. The music was 'The things we give away'. If I want a wonderful happy cry, all I have to do is watch this!!

An Orangutan! Well not an actual one but an adoption. After watching the plight of these poor creatures on TV my husband adopted one for me and we still have him. I was appaled at the treatment these beautiful animals received during clearing of their natural habitat, tied up, frightened and then killed. It was one of the most practical and enjoyable Christmas presents I have ever received knowing I'm doing something to help!

The thing that comes to mind the most is my best Christmas day, which was about 10 years ago in Disneyland, just me and my husband together. You probably had to be there to appreciate this, but it was absolute magic from 8 in the morning till 10 at night!

Love those little pigs! I don't really have a favourite Christmas present. When we were little my parents always gave us the choice between one big present or lots of little presents. I always chose the little presents so I had more to open!

The best Christmas presents are the ones that are hand made with love!! When my youngest daughter was about 5 or 6 yrs old, she made me a "Santa" at school. It was made from one of those thread cones I think are used on overlockers. I have always treasured it and it has pride of place in my dining room every Christmas. It is well over 30 years old now. 🙂

Lovely pigs. They will make a change from all the little mice I've been producing from your free pattern. My daughter loves them. My best Christmas present was a doll called Buzy Lizzy. She was able to iron, feather dust and hoover and then the next best was Sheena whose hair used to grow out the top of her head when you turned a wheel on her back. Memories of the 1970's!!

My best present ever was one I gave and someday hope to get back: My mother had a quilt top that a lovely lady at our church sewed in the 1960s. I found it in the early 2000s and took it home with me. My mother had tried to quilt it but abandoned the project after completing only a couple of square inches — quilting is not her thing! I dismantled the work Mother had done and repaired and quilted it. Mother was delighted, and so was I!

My best Christmas gift ever was the star pendant that my husband gave me for Christmas the first Christmas after we met. I love reading your blog–and those flying pigs are just too cute! When my children were young and used to ask for something I had no intention of letting them have or do, I'd say, "when pigs fly!" lol Nice to see they actually can, right? Anyway, my favorite Christmas gift was a stuffed toy skunk when I was about 3 or 4. I'd watched the movie, "Bambi" and fallen in love with Flower the Skunk. I knew I wouldn't be allowed to have a real skunk (my first choice for my Christmas gift) so the toy skunk was my 2nd choice–and a very cuddly one.

OMG they are SO cute ♥ I collect Angels and anything with angel wings so they'd be right up my ally. PLEASE enter me in your give away.

My best *present* ever was not a present that could be wrapped in paper or a box. It was the last Christmas my oldest brother was alive (he passed away almost 5 yrs ago) He was very very ill, almost passed away a few days before Christmas of 2006. Mother had just passed away in September 2006 so I *celebrated* the Holidays with brother and sis in law. Brother had been in the hospital for weeks and on Christmas day was allowed to come home and be with sis in law and me. He couldn't eat anything anymore, no solid foods….but on that Christmas day sis in law made his favorite meal. He could only eat a few fork fulls…but he enjoyed it tremendously. I can still see his face when he tasted solid food for the first time in weeks….he SO enjoyed it. That eve he had to be taken back to the hospital..he became too ill again, threw up etc. and just a few weeks later he passed away.

BUT his face was the best *present* ever. I will never forget it in my entire life ♥

Greetings from Marian (and sorry for the long answer)

I adore your Pig Angel,I call my grand daughter my Angel she is an angel. When she was a year and a half years old she fell down my basement steps, they were living with us then and her dad left the door open and she fell and shattered her skull on one side so she had a soft spot for years before they could fix it. That is why she is my Angel. I am sorry I shouldn't rattle on like this. When I was young I got a Mastermind game and I liked it so much I kept it till I moved out on my own then my mom got rid of it. Thank you for this wonderful giveaway and Happy Holiday's to you and yours.

I have the perfect family to make an angel pig for. The pig itself has meaning to them and well they need an angel to help bring their children home, adopted from China!

I just love pigs, and the flying pigs are very Cute! My best Christmas present ever would be a Family picture that I receive from my sister. It was a picture of my sister & brother when we were kids. She was the only one that had the original copy. I even cry when I open the Present, because I have been asking for this picture for years.

Although I've always been blessed with a wonderful Christmas, I think my favorite gift was Raggedy Ann and Raggedy Andy. I wanted them so badly and the first thing I did when I unwrapped them was look for the "I love you" heart…

I love items with pig as I born in the year of pig. I have tatted flying pigs before but not sew one.

I love the jewellery my DH gave me best. Next are the handmade cards my children do.

I once got a handmade felt doll that looks like me from a boy. Who didn't even look like he could stitch. Later I found out it was his mom stitching, but that's so sweet and made me want to learn how to make one.

My mum said I wasn't allowed a Rod Hull Emu hand puppet (they were massive) – but my Grandma surprised me and bought me an orange and black one!

The best gift I ever got was a red polka dot dress. My mother gave me when I was 7. The dress had three layers of ruffles. Her friend made it.I loved the dress. It was a amazing surprise.

Oh, the angel pig is darling, my daughter would love it! Hmm, not sure about my best present, but one I remember and still have is a huge Horsman baby doll I got the year Barbie came out. I wanted a baby, my Mom wanted me to have Barbie, so I got both.

My best Christmas present was 4 years ago.. My husband bought me a sweet little Pomeranain puppy and the little guy was ignored by our Maltese that he decided to attach himself to my hip. I couldn't go anywhere with out him.. and he is still that way.. He is just so cute and he makes me laugh with his antics. If I am sick he won't leave my side.

Love that piggy, too cute for words! Just today when I was able to take a cup of tea into the hospital via a picnic pack my family gave us a few Christmas' ago, I thanked God for this thoughtful gift. That was the first thing that crossed my mind! Thank-you for the opportunity to have your lovely craft gift too it would be a great job helping to bring him to life.

I was searching for a pig pattern this morning, and this one is so cute! I'd absolutely love making this little piggy! My first grandchild is due in the spring, and I want to make him/her a mobile with different colors of pigs. Of course the pigs MUST have wings to be on a mobile!

My best Christmas memories are from when I was a little girl. I remember one year two of my brothers convinced me Santa was on the roof but couldn't come in until I was asleep. I simply could not go to sleep then! That was the last Christmas I remember having with one of those brothers, because he died when I was nine.

My best present ever? It was one I didn't actually get, but, the dreaming and the anticipation kept me happy for months. No, I didn't get the pony that I wanted. The big box that I thought held a saddle? It held a globe of the world, which led to many more dreams.
One of my favorite expressions is "when pigs fly" and I have a drawing of a pig with wings over my desk at work. Would love to make them!

My best present ever- hard to say, though the 2 pigs given to charity in my name was pretty good. The calendars with favourite 3 yr old in was cool too.
Love your pigs if I don't win I'll buy the kit, one for me and one for 12 yr old niece.

I was directed to your site via another – and have spent the last hour browsing! Awesome and inspirational! I love the piggies; all the family collect piggies for a SIL who insists "NO MORE"! and she loves and displays every one! My favorite Christmas gift was the one I received was when I was 14, over 40 years ago: my mother was able to come home from cancer radiation treatment. In those days only the very big cities offered treatment, and she had been over 300 miles away for 6 months. She unfortunately did not survive her cancer, but Christmas brings back the memories and feelings of her surprise return.

These are so cute, please enter me ^_^

My favourite christmas present this year was probably a shiny new pair of fiskar sewing scissors, cutting with them is a dream!
